They are. I mean it. They're comfortable, somehow block the wind but are also "breezy". I can sleep in them, but I can also hike in them. I wear a medium in all of my Free Fly shorts, but my sweatpants needed to be large, so I went with large for these pants. I probably would've been ok in the medium.
Anyway... buy these pants if you're on the fence.
